Welcome

World Map painted on my son's wall
If you have managed to wander across this, my first ever blog posting, congratulations!  I have no idea what you're in for.  My interests are wide-ranging and my blog posts will probably be the same.  So I'll just start with a little about myself.  I am a mother of three living in Mesa, Arizona.  I love doing crazy projects like painting a world map on my son's wall, making a Voldemort/Bellatrix LeStrange pinata for my daughter's Harry Potter birthday party, or making curtains out of inexpensive sheets.

I also love being involved in politics.  I support conservative candidates both locally and nationally and have even run for and am serving in a local position.  I wish more mothers with young children would make the time to get involved in their communities.  It is such a rewarding experience.

When I can find some spare time, I love to read and discuss books.  Some of my all-time favorites include Pride & Prejudice, all of the Harry Potter books, Hunger Games, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and many, many more.  The most recent book I've read was A Respectable Trade by Philippa Gregory.

I have decided to start a blog as a place to share funny parenting anecdotes and fun project ideas, write my thoughts on books I'm reading, discuss political topics or ideas, write about education concerns and ideas, and pretty much write whatever it is I am dwelling on each time I write.  So, once again, welcome!  I hope you find something you enjoy reading.
